Just back from Toronto and the inaugural Canadian Writers’ Summit at Harbourfront Centre. Got to rec0nnect with some old friends and meet some new ones, go to some interesting sessions and keynote speeches, wine and dine and hang out in 30+ degree heat and humidity. Phew! And now I’m back and enjoying Calgary’s more moderate temperatures and pretty much non-existent humidity. My favourite part? Friday night’s keynote by Jean Little and her sister Pat de Vries.
Also at the Summit I took on a new role as Regional Director, AB / NWT, for Canadian Authors Association. Hoping to give back a little to an organization that has helped me along.
While I was away, my found poem “The Ladies’ Love Oracle” appeared at Verbatim Poetry; thanks to the editors for choosing it.
Next: enjoying summer. Happy solstice!
