The Year of Much Teaching; Short Short Boot Camp; Edits

Last night was the final class in my Creative Writing Level 2 course at Mount Royal. That’s it for me and teaching in 2013. And I did a lot of it this year, come to think of it. Besides my courses at MRU, I also acted as a mentor through the Writers’ Guild of Alberta from January through April, and served as writer-in-residence at the Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society in May and June. Looking forward to relaxing over the holidays with family and friends. Plus I have a whole week until the boys are off school!

Then things start again in mid- January. Classes are back in at MRU January 14th. I’m teaching a one-day workshop, Short Short Boot Camp, at AWCS on Saturday, January 18th. Also in mid-January, I’m due to start the edits on After You’ve Gone, my new novel which is coming out from Thistledown Press next fall. It’s going to be nice (and feel a little weird) to see this book take another step towards being a reality.

In the meantime, happy holidays, everyone! Stay warm and safe and enjoy the season. I intend to.
